Robert Mitchell 3io "The Embrace"

At last, Robert Mitchell 3io return with the follow up to their acclaimed debut "The Greater Good" which earned them "Best Jazz Album" at the "Gilles Peterson Worldwide Awards" in 2009. 3io, comprised of pianist Robert Mitchell, bassist Tom Mason and drummer Richard Spaven, continues their journey on "The Embrace" classicly crafting illustrious versions of music & compostions spanning 2 centuries from a wide range of genres including their take on Little Dragon's "Twice", Aphex Twins' "Alberto Balsam", Bheki Msleku's "Cycles",  4hero's "Third Stream" to a classical piece original composed by Robert Schumann. Also includes are glorious original compostions from each member including a slightly more minimally cosmic version of Spaven's "Maz" which he recorded on his solo ep "5ives" that originally had Jose James on vocals. Truly a transcendental piece in its entirety.

Jose James: It’s All Over Your Body & Trouble [AllSaints Basement Sessions]

Check out these two videos of Jose James performing new songs from his upcoming album at the Basement Sessions for the UK clothing company ALL SAINTS. The jazzy funky soul is in order with his super velvety tones & killer brass section. Probably his most funky to date. Can’t wait until 2012 arrives to hear the full project.

When French producer Häzel and Toronto based producer/musician Slakah The Beatchild went into a studio session, this six track instrumental and somewhat loungey and jazzy bommbaptastical affair was born.

Yahzarah "Love Come Save The Day" (Official Video)

I'd like to congratulate Yahzarah on the birth of her first child; a bouncing baby boy she named Miles. In the final tri-mester of her pregnancy, she filmed this beautifully shot video of her tune “Love Come Save The Day.” Filmed on a sandy beach, greenery in all of her happiness and beauty. Check it out!
