Miles Bonny & Taku "Down To Earth Club Music"

InNatesounds crew member, producer, singer Miles Bonny is at again teaming up with Australian producer & RBMA affiliate Ta-Ku bringing forth yet another perfect blend of gritty headnod & smooth melodic soul.

Cleveland Jones "Nature Boy"

There's nothing like waking up, checking your email & getting a pleasant surprise in your inbox in the form of great music & I'd like to thank producer, musician Ahmed Sirour for the delight. Listen to this refreshing rendition of one of my FAVORITE songs & a classic that Nat King Cole made famous. Totally acoustic with Ahmed on piano & the vocal stylings & the ill falsetto of Cleveland Jones, whom after hearing, you definitely want to hear more.

Gregory Porter "1960 What? (Opolopo Kick & Bass Rerub)"

Jazz singer Gregory Porter's "Waters" cd was truly one of the best releases of 2010 & I was ecstatic when it was announced that it earn a Grammy nomination. One of the standout tunes on the release is the racially charged "1960 What?" inspired the Detroit riots, the death of MLK & the racial oppression of the 60's.

This tune also caught the ears of funky Swedish producer Opolopo (who has quickly become a SOUNDROTATION favorite) & he has retweaked the tune with heavier bass & a kick drum making it a future jazz club classic.

A dope collaboration of griity electrofunk from InNatesounds crewmember Reggie B & Saadiq of Platinum Pied Pipers. This is a project that had been on the shelf for awhile now released from the vaults for you to enjoy.

Not able to tell you much more at the moment as every write up & info I can find is written in French. I can tell you their EP releases next week & they debuted this wonderful video yesterday. Will definitely keep you posted on delevopments as I break thru the language barrier but for now, check out their video & enjoy.

Maverick "The First Step"

I liked to thank super producer Oddisee for putting me on to this killer, early 90's-esque debut beattape from his fellow comrad.

"When it comes to digging for samples I must admit, I'm not the best at. When you have friends like mine you don't have to be. I'd like to introduce you all to Maverick, a producer from Washington, DC by way of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Maverick & I have been friends for some time now, His knowledge on Hip Hop & records never ceases to amaze me.
The last time we hooked up, he played me some new beats he was working on. He's a busy guy who has his hands in tons of things. The one thing he has yet to dabble in was a release. I convinced him to let me share his beats with you all. Consider these tracks "The First Step" in my homie making a name for himself"..........................................Oddisee

Baron Retif & Concepcion Perez

2 killer cosmic tunes from Parisian production duo Baron Retif & Concepcion Perez who's sound has been described as the connection of dots from Dr. Dre to Sun Ra, from Liquid Liquid to The Roots and back...recorded in their fully analog equipped studio. The 1st tune "Superman" is a raw & funky groove with CRAZY (in a good way) synths & keys that drive in an 2000 Space Odyssey kinda mode. The 2nd tune "Beijos Seus Labios" is a slower off beat groove with their signature drums & key licks featuring the smoky voice of singer Tita Lima delivering portuguese poetry making the tune a bit breezy as well.

Dotmatic "Lullabies For Winter"

Record Breakin Music is gearing up to release the latest hotness from Philly based producer Dotmatic. A killer ep of dreamtastic soundscapes serving as the perfect soundtrack to get you thru the brutal winter days. In preparation, there is a FREE downloadable promo mix of tunes that inspired the EP which releases on Feb. 14th. Check it below & for the ep, go to http://www.recordbreakin.com/rbm025.html.

Winter, the coldest and most dreaded season of the year. The days are short and the nights are long. If you're not used to the cold you will hate it but for someone who was born in the winter, there is beauty and warmth already present.

Each track takes you through a different moment within the season.
Quiet, stillness, calm, gentle snow, storms, blizzard, love, family, break up, solitude

Goal: Forget that anything or anyone else exist for that moment. If you're snowed in or coming home after a long day work-whether you're alone or with the one you love-find your moment. Let this project be your soundtrack.

Black Genius "The Landing"

Black Genius is the pairing of a producer & a singer that are creating a nice buzz on the underground. Seven Davis Jr has been a quite warrior on the LA beat scene for quite some time. He came to my attention thru the recommendation of 2 of my favorite artist, I'Ced of Hawthorne Headhunters & Erik Rico. If you don't recognize the name J. Mitchell, you may recognize her work with Ta'Raach & The Lovelution, her brief stint as lead singer of the LA soul band The Rebirth, or most recently, her KILLER collab & video with producer Exile. Now the 2 are preparing to step into the forefront with this project & 1st tune "The Landing" a gritty & uncut electric joyride. Check it out, download it below & put them on your radar.

Mar "2u4u"

Dutch singer Mar is at it again with the latest in his Variation series & of course it was befitting to make it a tribute the gone too soon producer of our generation J Dilla. Check out his version of the Slum Village classic.
